The village of Laxey lies approximately 8 miles from Douglas and 6 miles from the suburb of Onchan. Famous landmarks here are the Laxey Wheel, a popular tourist attraction along with our traditional Tramline Station – Laxey is well known for it’s close knit community feel with a busy village, quaint harbour & beach for those afternoon strolls.
The centre of the community is the main road where there is a doctor’s surgery, a local chemist, a Post Office, an opticians and various other shops serving the village. In the centre of this, by the Mill next to the Glen Roy river, sits Glen House itself. The only residential home on the east side of the island from Douglas to Ramsey at the north.
