Sunflower Way
Welcome to
Sunflower Way
'Transforming Lives and Building Hope'

Sunflower Way is a totally separate unit which occupies the first floor within Sunnydale Residential Home which has been developed to meet the support needs of the younger physically disabled person and is part of the Pearl Health Care Group.

Pearl Healthcare is recognised as being a passionate and committed provider which offers support according to individual needs and from this foundation Sunflower Way was developed.

The unit is in an enviable position in Douglas with easy access to the promenade, shopping centre, library, gardens, museum, theatre, cinemas, pubs and cafes and is serviced by a regular bus service.  From the front conservatory there are spectacular sea views and much interest in the sailings of our local steam packet company is a popular pastime.

Our Model of Care: Social Model vs Medical Model
The social model of disability says that disability is caused by the way the society is organised whereas the medical model of disability says people are disabled by their impairments or differences.

The barriers you might face are not just physical.  Attitudes found in society which are based on prejudice or stereotyping may also disable you from having equal opportunities to be part of society.  At Sunflower Way we work with you to enable you and not to disable you further and to facilitate this we implement the Social Model of Care where all things become possible!

Sunflower Way provides:• Electronic access front door  • User friendly floor surfaces to aid independent mobility•  Personalised own front door with your own front door key• Well-appointed en-suite bedrooms complete with fridges and tea and coffee making facilities• Spacious and bright lounge encompassing TV, computer, dart board, music centre, quite simply a place to relax, pursue your interests and hobbies, entertain family and friends and of course a place to eat your meals
