Highlights of February
Glen House Residential Home
Glen House were unable to join in the fun at Sunnydale due to poor weather conditions making the journey into Douglas impossible.
However not to miss out on the fun residents with the help of the staff made an array of superb Valentines cakes and cards
Following the wonderful donation from the late Esther Murden the improvements to the dining room and bathroom have been completed.
The bathroom now hosts a comfortable shower room and an "under the sea" theme on the walls where dolphins and fish complete the experience

The dining room now boast new tables and chairs and the overall look is completed with the addition of a Garden Room Area where residents can sit and relax in this peaceful and calm environment


Tudor Lodge
Tudor Lodge also spent enjoyable afternoons designing and making Valentines gifts and cards for friends and staff before joining in the fun at the Tea Dance held at Sunnydale on Valentines Day
Residents thanked the residents and staff from Sunnydale for a throughly enjoyable afternoon and an extra special thank you for the array of wonderful cream cakes



Sunnydale Residential Home
If you want to party party party then look no further than an event held at Sunnydale.
Sunnydale played host to Pearl Healthcare's first Pink Valentines Tea Dance and this event surpassed our wildest expectations
Residents had spent time making pink hearts to use as decorations, pink symbolising the way we look out for each other and take care of ourselves. The Music Lounge was festooned in pink banners, balloons, decorations and hearts and set out as a traditional tea dance style room much to the amazement of the residents


Shirley our resident cook made a superb Valentines cake and a selection of cream cakes, Shirley surpassing herself once more

Residents and staff joined together in what can only be described as an unusual tea dance, Melba on the zimmer frame, Colin conducting and Julie just dancing all afternoon


A Valentines Quizz and a "buy a heart" raffle followed the dancing raising £150 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.


Earlier on in February Angie as pictured above right came to Sunnydale to collect our cheque for £450 which was raised on our Annual Think Pink Day
