Pearl Healthcare celebrates the success of its first Pink Valentines Tea Dance.

Residents, relatives and staff join together to dance the afternoon away, enjoy home made cream cakes and raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer at Sunnydale Residential Home.

The Music Lounge at Sunnydale was festooned with pink decorations and balloons to get everyone in the mood for this first Pink Valentines Tea Dance.

Residents and Staff all adorned in pink joined together to have a good time and raise money for their adopted charity

Shirley, the cook, excelled herself with a stunning array of home made cream cakes and a Pink Valentines Cake.

Julie the Manager said " I have never seen so many people dancing complete with walking sticks and zimmer frames.  It was a truly inspirational day"

£150 was raised for the Isle of Man branch of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and this makes a welcome start to the 2012 fund raising.

"Zimmer frame? No problem"

Shergy's Diary

 Weeks 13-14:

Well fans have you missed me?  I have had severe meltdown of my laptop which has prevented me from updating my diary but I am back now with lots of news:-

You can speak to me via email, shergy@mail.com
  • Last week I was very poorly with conjunctivitis and had to make two trips to the vets which was no fun and Julie had to clean my eye and put drops in twice a day which was even less fun!  Yes Julie did complain about how much it cost!
  • I know you will find this hard to believe but I have had a puppy ASBO served on me!!  I know it really isn't on is it?  All I did was chew Julie's cheque book, mobile phone and the Company cheque book!  Now does that really deserve an ASBO?  I think not

"This is what I think to the ASBO, I have taken over as the boss at Sunnydale, lovely swivel chair"

  • We had a fabulous "Think Pink" Party to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer since I last spoke to you and we raised an amazing total of £450.00 for this worthy cause.  Trouble was they made me wear a pink collar and lead and a pink sash for the day.  I can tell you I was mighty glad to get back into my blue collar as soon as all the guests had gone
" Action shot of myself with Abigail"                            "No Julie had no idea how stupid she looked!"

  • I continue to have a problem getting up for work in a morning even though we start the day off on the beach I would rather have an extra five minutes in bed

"Look out Julie is on the lookout for me"                  "Don't even think about pulling off the duvet"

  • Just to remind you how far I have come look at the photos below, these clearly show what a lot of love and affection can do for a puppy

"I know what you're thinking..........  just how handsome can one puppy be?"

  • We have had some more sad news at our house, Seita our old Springer Spaniel who had a stroke has died just as we were getting to know each other.  Julie and Ed have been very sad so I have tried my best to cheer them up!  Maybe chasing the kitten and stealing socks isn't the best way! I do have to say though who needs socks in pairs?
  • The staff have been planning my Christmas costume but I refuse to discuss that until at least the beginning of December!
  • I have been promoted to a proper dog basket now as I getting a bit small to get the door of my puppy pen

"Here I am being a proper dog in my new basket"                        "Last 40 winks in my puppy pen"

Well goodbye for now and don't forget to email me on shergy@mail.com
